Aspen's deepest desire as a therapist is to walk alongside others, to step into their shoes and to empower them to have compassion for the wounded parts of their being. She is passionate about guiding others to feel what emotions must be felt, even when it is hard. Aspen wants to offer her clients a new path of learning that they do not need to run or hide from themselves but that they are capable of experiencing uncomfortable emotions. That in experiencing the full spectrum of their emotions, they are able to allow peace, rest, and acceptance to permeate the deepest parts of their souls. Aspen aspires to become more and more comfortable leading others on this journey of self-acceptance.
As a therapist, Aspen assists people from many backgrounds with a broad range of issues including identity issues, addiction recovery, relationship struggles, trauma and abuse and grief/loss of a loved one. Aspen has worked with young adults at a college counseling center as well as a wide spectrum of addictions at an intensive outpatient recovery center. Aspen has also been trained in Prepare & Enrich which she has found to be very helpful for couples to deepen their relationship and understanding of one another and she plans to be trained in EMDR in the near future.
