Our Personalized Approach

How Our Therapists Walk With You Through Life’s Transitions

Life transitions, relationship challenges, and seasons of uncertainty can feel overwhelming — but you don’t have to navigate them alone. At CIFT Counseling, our therapists offer a thoughtful, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and cared for.

Our approach to therapy is rooted in psychodynamic and relational work, helping clients better understand the patterns, experiences, and relationships that shape their emotional lives. Whether you’re facing anxiety, grief, relationship struggles, career changes, or questions about identity and purpose, our therapists walk alongside you with compassion and curiosity.

At CIFT, we support clients through:

  • Grief, divorce, separation, and family changes

  • Relationship and communication challenges

  • Anxiety, depression, and life transitions

  • Shame, guilt, and unresolved pain from past experiences

  • Questions around identity, purpose, and personal growth

Because every person’s story is different, therapy is tailored to your unique needs and goals. Depending on your care, therapists may also integrate approaches such as mindfulness-based practices, somatic techniques, or EMDR. Connection, trust, and collaboration remain at the heart of the therapy process.

FAQs
  • We offer several options so you can find a fit that aligns with both your needs and your budget.

Our licensed therapists offer sessions in the $200–$225 range.

We also offer support through our pre-licensed team:

    • Graduate trainees start at $90 per session

    • Associate therapists start at $115 per session

If cost is a concern, let us know. We have a limited number of sliding scale spots, and we’ll do our best to see if you’re eligible.

  • Pre-licensed therapists — whether they’re in the final stages of their master’s program or working as associates — are deeply committed to their craft and receive ongoing, thoughtful supervision from licensed Marriage and Family Therapists.

Supervisors don’t join your sessions; instead, they provide guidance behind the scenes. From time to time, a pre-licensed therapist may record a session for training or supervision purposes only.

  • Your first session is really about beginning a relationship with your therapist. You’ll talk about what brought you here, what you hope for, and what you need. Your therapist will also walk through the paperwork you completed in the client portal and make sure there’s room for any questions or concerns. We want this first conversation to feel grounding, safe, and honoring of your story.

  • When you walk into the lobby, you’ll see an iPad kiosk. Simply tap your therapist’s photo to check in, then settle in and take a breath. Your therapist will come meet you when it’s time. Our hope is that the moment you arrive, you feel welcome and at ease.

  • There’s no “standard” timeline in therapy because each person’s story, relationships, and experiences are uniquely shaped over time. Therapy is not about rushing toward quick solutions, but about creating the space for deeper understanding, meaningful reflection, and lasting emotional growth. Your therapist will walk alongside you with curiosity, care, and compassion as you explore the patterns, experiences, and emotions that may be influencing your present life and relationships.

For some people, therapy brings clarity or relief within a few months. Others continue for a longer season as deeper themes emerge, life transitions unfold, or longstanding relational patterns begin to shift. Psychodynamic therapy honors the idea that meaningful change often develops gradually through insight, self-awareness, and the experience of being deeply understood within the therapeutic relationship.

Throughout the process, your therapist will collaborate with you in a thoughtful and attuned way, helping you better understand yourself, your emotions, and your relationships. Together, you may explore early experiences, attachment dynamics, recurring patterns, and the underlying roots of emotional pain while building greater capacity for connection, resilience, and healing. Depending on your needs and goals, your therapist may also thoughtfully integrate supportive approaches such as mindfulness-based practices, somatic techniques, or EMDR as part of your care.

  • Consistency is an important part of the healing journey, so most clients begin with weekly sessions at a regular day and time. As you settle in and your needs evolve, you and your therapist can talk about adjusting the frequency to match what supports you best.

  • Humans are created for relationship. Our brains are wired for empathy and emotional attunement, which develop through real, human connection. While information can influence behavior in the short term, lasting transformation occurs through relationship, as God designed. The vulnerability, presence, and mutual responsiveness essential to healing require a real person and cannot be replicated by AI.

  • CIFT therapists bring clinical training and a trusted relationship. They listen carefully, notice emotional and relational nuance, respond with discernment, and walk alongside you with care and wisdom over time.

  • We view AI as a helpful tool, not a replacement for therapy. At CIFT, we believe meaningful growth and healing happen best through thoughtful, relational care that is rooted in clinical excellence and a distinctly Christian understanding of the person.

  • If faith or spirituality is important to you, your therapist can thoughtfully incorporate those values and beliefs into the therapy process. For some clients, this may include prayer, conversations about meaning and purpose, or exploring how faith shapes their relationships, experiences, and understanding of themselves. For others, it may simply mean knowing their beliefs are welcomed and respected in the room.

Your therapist will follow your lead and create space for what matters most to you, integrating faith and spirituality in a way that feels supportive, authentic, and aligned with your goals for therapy.
