CIFT is partnering with Solidarity to offer support groups and educational classes in their communities. Solidarity operates in two Latino, Immigrant neighborhoods in Fullerton. Through having CIFT therapists offering care and education we have seen the stigma of mental health issues decrease along with healing and a flourishing in new growth.
Solidarity, a Christian non-profit organization with a heart for the Latino community. They operate in two Latino, Immigrant communities in Fullerton, CA.
The Garnet neighborhood is predominantly a first generation community and home to new families or individuals migrating from Mexico and other Central and South American countries.
The Maple neighborhood is a more established, multi-generational community with family ties going back decades. Both of these vibrant areas are marked by cultural beauty and resiliency. Both are under resourced neighborhoods whose residents have experienced racially exclusive measures that have led to barriers that inhibit the flourishing of these communities today. Both neighborhoods are characterized by overcrowded, multi-family homes, title 1 schools, and gang influenced areas.
CIFT is partnering with Watts Powerhouse Church by sending CIFT therapists to the Watts community to provide individual therapy. This level of care has been inaccessible to this community and CIFT is proud to offer trusted and deep care to these community members.
Powerhouse Church is located in Watts next to the Imperial Courts Projects. Trauma is familiar to almost all residents in Watts. Many have experienced acute, chronic and complex traumas including: racial, physical, emotional, sexual and verbal trauma. Residents have also been confronted with family members who are incarcerated or have mental illness and/or addictions. It is commonplace to have witnessed violence, experienced poverty, housing instability, neglect, food insecurity and parental separation.
CIFT has a designated scholarship fund to temporarily support current clients that are struggling to pay for therapy.
Thanks to this fund, many of our clients have been able to continue receiving care during times of financial hardship. With your support, we can ensure this vital scholarship assistance remains available - providing hope and healing when it's needed most.
