Steven has a deep passion to enter into the more difficult moments of people’s lives and journey with them toward a place of healing and growth. His desire is that as each person experiences his genuine compassion and insight into their life, they would gain a greater understanding of themselves and feel more capable of living a meaningful life.

As a therapist, Steven works with people presenting a broad range of issues including anxiety, depression, identity issues, trauma of various kinds, especially childhood trauma, relational difficulties, sexuality, and spiritual issues. Steven is particularly interested in helping people connect their past, present, and futures in a way that dignifies their story and brings coherence to their lives. He has found this to be especially helpful for people with a history of trauma. He also has extensive experience in understanding and treating shame, which can act as a viscous undercurrent in many people’s lives.
