Hope Phillips (Geisinger), MS
Associate Marriage & Family Therapist
License #: AMFT128547
Office: Torrance/South Bay
Hope believes in the power of restoration and healing that can be experienced from identifying where deep pain has caused an individual or a couple to cope in unhealthy patterns and then spending time allowing the Truth to not only be understood logically but to be believed to the point where it drives our actions.
As a certified Level Two Restoration Therapist, she uses a combination of different evidence-based theories and practices such as Attachment Theory, Experiential Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She believes in the necessity of healthy and life-giving relationships, whether it is working through complicated feelings related to grief and loss, a marriage relationship, or the ability to be vulnerable with God and oneself.
Having grown up in a multiethnic and multicultural family, she feels passionate about working with couples that are experiencing bicultural or multiethnic issues within the relationship or family. She also has a desire working with couples who are experiencing struggles with vulnerability and intimacy or feel stuck in similar arguments or patterns. Growing up in a family that worked in ministry, she has a desire to help with the healing process and equipping pastors/ministry staff, missionaries, missionary kids and pastor’s kids. She is also interested in working with individuals that are experiencing identity issues, have a desire to grow and/or would like to work through past trauma.
